Dealer Plate Abuse

I think we need to crack down on all the dealer plate abuse. Each day I must see 2-3 of em during about 10 miles of driving. It usually some lady taking her kids to the store, going to the grocery store & running errands. Based on my astute profiling it's almost never someone test driving a new car, going to work to sell cars or transporting a car from one place to another.

What we need is a system where we can rat out the cheats. Maybe just email the plate, date, time & place....and if it's not a legit usage the dealer loses all their plates.

It probably costs all of us $150 every time we buy a car to cover the illegitimate plate usage.

Crappy TV Coverage of the Olympics

What's up with this year's coverage of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver? It's full of repeats, has far too much meaningless info & has more commercials than I've ever seen. If I just wanted to watch some damn event, any event w/o all the fluff I'd be out of luck. The coverage is so bad that I find myself looking for other stuff to watch. Hopefully the idiots @ NBC won't get the winning bid next time.

Iran is run by Idiots

Just when you think one of those axis of evil countries can't do anything worse they come up with something else. Never mind the bigger middle finger they flip the rest of the world, the development of nuclear weapons, refusal to abide by UN sanctions, fixing an election(more to come), killing those who object....now they are trying to shutdown gmail. Someone needs to tell all the Iranians about anonymizers. I wonder if yahoo mail works? They are idiots that run the country in Iran after all;-)

SuperBowl Ads Not So Super

After watching this year's SuperBowl ads I find them totally unimpressive. Some were really bad (GoDaddy, Bridgestone, Bud Lite, Dodge), most were so-so. None were what I consider to be good. A few got some chuckles but I can't see where any of them would get me to buy anything.

The google ad was a bit of a stretch, yet mildly interesting.

If we're going to have such bad ads let's adopt the French model and ensure they're totally pointless and contain nudity!

Obama does something right

As near as I can tell Obama actually did something right for a change. In his new budget he proposed closing some data centers, adopting best practices & using web 2.0 technologies.

Somali Pirates Should be used for Target Practice

Why are we coddling these Somali pirates?  We should simply go in there w/ Navy seals and extract the hostage and kill all the pirates.  We could deny it since white house policy says it's ok to lie.  If we blow the pirate boats out of the water then they'll cease & desist.  

How much aide are we giving to Somalia?  I wonder how much helps support these pirates.

Never Buy a Toro Lawnmower

I just bought a LawnBoy mower for my yard.  I wish I'd done it years ago.  It started the first time every time.  I just put my old toros out on the curb.  They were both GTS (Guaranteed to Start) & never started on the first three tries on their best day.  I took em in to get tuned up & they were still a pain to start.  The only way I could get them to start was w/ carburator cleaner.  Toro should sell their crappy mowers w/ 2-3 cans of Gumount carb cleaner....

Chris Dodd Having Trouble Selling AIG Blazers

Chris Dodd is a liar & a cheat. How many bribes did he accept from AIG, Countrywide, real estate interests & other financial institutions. I think it's interesting that AIG "encoraged" employees to contribute to dipshit Dodd & wanted to collect the names. Shouldn't we remove him since he's plenty worse than the CEO of GM?

G20 Summit

The upcoming G20 summit will be interesting. Most likely there will be little agreement. I sure hope they don't ask Obama any tough questions about guns and butter;-) I bet Joe the Plummer could do a better job. He's certainly more qualified and experienced.

Auto Handout Idiocy

Why do we continue to throw good money after bad? The car companies don't need anymore money. They need to simply go through bankruptcy. It's not that hard to do & it might even be less painful than the current slow death course. Dozens of airlines have done it & came out just fine. One airline even did it twice. Someone needs to grab the checkbook out of OSpendamas hands.

Obama is Clueless on Economics

I ran across a nice piece discussing the sad state of affairs with Obama & Geitner on Economics. Cleraly Geitner was a poor choice & doing worse than anyone could imagine. The economic dream team is clearly a nightmare for all concerned. Obama remains inexperienced & clueless on economics & finance. I guess he didn't actually take those courses @ Harvard. He must have taken underwated basketweaving & spin doctor 101 instead. I think he'd make a great used car salesman. I do admire Obams's trying to tackle many things at once. I don't think it's necessarily part of the problem. If he tackled fewer items it doesn't mean he'd do a better job. Strategy is severely lacking. Worse yet the true economics point to a certain depression. Obama is on his way to giving us 14% unemployment. Fixing the economy isn't rocket science. It's been done before & can be done again w/ tax cuts, incentives for small business, reduced government regulation, etc.... We can't spend our way out of this mess. I fear most for our children as their future may lie outside the US.

MLB.TV Blackouts are Evil

A few years ago I got MLB.TV and watched a bunch of games & it was pretty cool. Since then they've added the some cool features, but have added a nasty blackout feature. If you're in a variable radius of 300 - 2393 miles you get blacked out. This not only includes home games but the road games which could be 3000 miles away. I live in Memphis which contains STL, ATL & CIN. I understand the first two, but 400 miles to Cincinnati. Now I'm sure there's a bunch of folks that are going to get out of work @ 5PM and drive to Cincinnati for that 7:05PM start. That's an 1:05 due to the time change to drive 400 miles. Does my car go 390MPH?

How about if I live in Hawaii. I guess I'd have to miss the Angels, Padres & Dodgers. Wrongo. I can't watch the Giants(2393mi), but can watch the A's & all other teams.

I guess the most sensible workaround is to use a cc that has a zipcode in Hawaii assuming you're not a Giants fan.

The Ungrateful United Nations

If the UN doesn't like how we pay I think we should simply not pay anything. The UN doesn't support our efforts worldwide, it coddles terrorists, supports regimes that cause the world's problems & has the unmitigated gaul to complain about our payments. Now is the right time to pull out of the UN and evict them from NY. Maybe they should find a new home in Tehran?

Now we're going to bailout irresponsible borrowers so they can stay in their homes longer, not pay their mortgage (since the rest of us are paying it now) this allows them to pamper their pets, buy more cigarettes, go out on the town, buy crack cocaine, buy a new car, etc....

I thought Clinton was a bad president because he did absolutely nothing, running on auto pilot. Obama is in the car driving as fast as he can & isn't worried about driving off the cliff. This is what we get when idiots elect a president with absolutely no experience.
